Role Overview
As a Year 5 Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that inspire and challenge pupils. Working part-time, you will collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuity in learning and provide an exceptional educational experience for all students.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
- Foster an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where all pupils feel valued.
- Adapt teaching strategies to support a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
- Promote a growth mindset and encourage pupils to take ownership of their learning.
Pupil Progress & Assessment
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, using data to inform planning and interventions.
- Provide constructive feedback to pupils and set achievable targets for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil performance and contribute to school reports.
Classroom & Behaviour Management
- Establish clear expectations for behaviour and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
- Implement the school’s behaviour policies effectively to support pupil well-being and engagement.
- Develop positive relationships with pupils, encouraging confidence and motivation.
Collaboration & Professional Development
- Work closely with colleagues and leadership to ensure consistency in teaching and curriculum delivery.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and school events where required.
- Engage with parents and carers to build strong partnerships that support pupil learning.
School Contribution
- Participate in school trips, projects, and extracurricular activities where possible.
- Contribute to the wider school community, supporting whole-school initiatives.
- Uphold the school’s values and ethos, acting as a positive role model for pupils.
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 5.
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to fostering a love of learning and high aspirations for all pupils.
Desirable:
- Experience in a part-time or job-share teaching role.
- Understanding of SEND and EAL teaching strategies.
- Ability to contribute to school initiatives and extracurricular activities.
